RoamRight
A solid, traditional policy with flexible add-ons including Cancel For Any Reason when purchased within the required window. Well suited for travelers who want a customizable, no-surprises plan.
RoamRight offers two primary single-trip plans: the Pro Plan, which provides essential coverage including trip cancellation and interruption, emergency medical, evacuation, and baggage protection at an affordable price; and the Pro Plus Plan, their most popular option, which adds premium benefits including coverage for work-related cancellations and a pre-existing medical conditions waiver when purchased within 21 days of your initial deposit.

Faye
A modern, digital-first option with a clean interface and app-based claims. Covers the core areas you would expect. A good choice for travelers who prefer simplicity and speed over complexity.
Faye now offers three tiers: Faye First, their essential core coverage recommended for domestic trips; Faye Forward, with increased coverage limits and broader protection recommended for international travel; and Faye Flagship, their highest tier with the strongest coverage limits, recommended for complex, multi-leg, or luxury trips.

Medjet — Medical Transport Membership (not travel insurance)
This is a medical transport membership, not a travel insurance policy. It does not cover trip cancellation or standard travel risks.
If you are hospitalized abroad, Medjet arranges transport back to the hospital of your choice at home once you are stable. Standard travel insurance typically gets you to the nearest adequate facility. For travelers heading to remote safari destinations, the reassurance of getting home to your own medical team can be worth it as a complement to your existing policy. It is worth noting that our own family carries an annual Medjet membership, and we would not recommend something we do not personally trust and use.

When should I purchase?
As soon as you are comfortable after your initial deposit. Many policies extend benefits like pre-existing condition coverage and Cancel For Any Reason only when purchased within a specific window. Buying early keeps your options open.
What coverage should I be looking for?
For safari travel specifically, we recommend prioritizing trip cancellation coverage equal to your full trip investment, and strong emergency medical and evacuation limits. Remote destinations can mean real distance from quality medical care, and evacuation from the field is not inexpensive. Beyond that, the right policy depends on your personal circumstances. If you have pre-existing conditions, complex routing, or a higher overall trip investment, it is worth calling the provider before you buy to understand how those factors affect your coverage.
Core coverage areas to look for: trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical, emergency evacuation, baggage, and Cancel For Any Reason if desired.
Do I have to use one of your partners?
No. You are free to purchase from any provider. We simply require proof of coverage before finalizing your booking. Once you have your policy, please send us your confirmation and we will keep it on file.
