Land of Scale and Stillness

“Tanzania is a place of grand scale and quiet depth. Whether you’re sitting with a lion at eye level or watching the clouds roll over Lake Tanganyika, it moves something in you.”

Landscape of Grandeur

Tanzania is safari on a grand scale. It’s home to some of Africa’s most iconic landscapes and wildlife experiences—from the endless Serengeti plains to the chimp-filled forests of Mahale and the stillness of Lake Eyasi. But it’s not just the scale that makes it special—it’s the intimacy.

Here, you can walk with the Hadzabe, watch elephants cross a dry riverbed at sunset, or listen to lions call across the Crater floor. Whether you’re tracking predators on the savanna or sipping coffee with views of the Rift Valley, Tanzania delivers moments that feel cinematic and real all at once.

What we Love Most

Where to Go.

  • World-famous for the Great Migration and its vast, acacia-studded plains teeming with lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

  • A UNESCO World Heritage site, this collapsed volcano shelters an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including the rare black rhino.

  • An archipelago of idyllic beaches, spice farms, and the historic Stone Town, offering a perfect blend of culture and relaxation.

  • Chem Chem Concession
A private wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara where elephants roam freely and the pace slows down. It’s an ideal setting for walking, sundowners under baobabs, and personal encounters with nature.

  • Remote and immense. Ruaha is a predator-rich landscape of granite outcrops and dry riverbeds, perfect for those who like it wild.

  • A journey to reach—but the reward is time with wild chimpanzees on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. No other safari moment compares.

  • From the historic streets of Stone Town to barefoot luxury on remote islands, Zanzibar is where culture and coastline meet.

Places we Love

Tanzania at a Glance.

Tanzania is a place where everything feels expansive—from the landscapes to the wildlife encounters to the sense of possibility. With more protected land than nearly any country on the continent, it offers epic scale and intimate stories. From game drives across endless plains to forest walks in search of chimpanzees—and from cultural connections to coastal escapes—Tanzania is as layered as it is wild. It’s a destination that changes you, quietly and deeply.

Your itinerary

We try to never curate the same itinerary twice, but below are just some of the itineraries we have curated in the past.

Pairs well with:

Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Zanzibar

  • Tanzania shines from June to October with dry conditions and spectacular game viewing. From November to March, the landscapes turn green, and the Southern Serengeti hosts calving season and excellent predator activity. April and May bring heavy rains but offer great value in certain regions.

  • Tanzania’s weather varies by region. The Northern Circuit (Serengeti, Ngorongoro) is generally pleasant year-round. The southern parks and coast experience heavier rains in April and May. Expect warm days, cool nights in the highlands, and humid beach weather year-round.

  • Yes—with some thoughtful planning. Private villas and slower-paced reserves make it great for families. Some camps have age restrictions for walking or gorilla treks, but many offer tailored family programming and kid-friendly activities.

  • Most visitors require a tourist visa, which can be obtained online in advance or on arrival. We recommend applying online for the e-visa through the official Tanzania immigration site.

  • Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from an endemic country. Malaria is present in most areas, so prophylactics are advised. We also suggest mosquito repellent, and keeping up to date with routine travel vaccines.

  • Safaris often include light aircraft flights between parks, which save time and offer stunning aerial views. The Northern Circuit can also be driven with a private guide. Zanzibar and other islands are accessed by regional flights or boat transfers.

Let’s talk about it.
